Carole Jean Jordan, Tax Collector, Indian River County Announces Governor Desantis’ Order To Extend Property Tax Payment Deadline To April 15, 2020

MEDIA RELEASE:

THURSDAY – Carole Jean Jordan, Tax Collector, Indian River County announces property tax payment deadline extension per Governor DeSantis’ Order of Emergency Waiver/Deviation #20-52-DOR-01.

Jordan said, “Governor DeSantis continues to demonstrate his abilities as a decisive leader who puts Floridians first. Today the Governor issued an Order of Emergency to help Florida’s property owners by extending the property tax deadline for 2 weeks to April 15th. Property taxes are normally due March 31st following the assessment year; however due to the economic abnormalities caused by efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, property taxes paid by the extended deadline will be considered on-time.”

“As a reminder, if you have a Florida driver license, commercial license, or state ID that is set to expire in the next two weeks, you are covered under an automatic 30-day extension granted by the State. Additionally, our drive-thru windows remain open 8am-5pm Monday to Friday to assist residents, and transactions processed on our secure website using e-check are always fee-free,” Jordan stated.
