Birth Certificate

Due to ongoing updates to the Florida Department of Health’s E-Vitals system, Tax Collector offices are temporarily unable to issue Florida birth certificates. The Department is working on implementing new technology to improve the process and enhance security.
While we are unable to provide this service at the moment, Florida Department of Health offices can still issue birth certificates. For additional details or to obtain a birth certificate, please contact your local Department of Health office directly.
We will resume printing birth certificates as soon as the new system is operational. Thank you for your patience and understanding. For any questions or further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

We have partnered with the Florida Department of Health and Bureau of Vital Statistics to provide certified birth certificates dating back to 1930 for all Florida counties at our Main and Sebastian Offices.
This service streamlines the process for residents who need birth certificates to obtain or renew Florida driver's licenses and state ID cards, allowing them to complete both transactions at one location. The first certificate costs $18.25, with additional copies at $10 each. Requirements for obtaining a birth certificate are listed below. Phone and mail requests are not accepted.

If you were not born in Florida and need additional information on how to order a birth certificate from another state, visit the National Center for Health Statistics.
