The Concealed Weapon License Application service is designed to allow an applicant to complete the entire application process quickly and conveniently. Applications submitted in our office are pre-screened for completion prior to their being forwarded to Tallahassee; ensuring that application errors or omissions are corrected to prevent processing delays. First time applicants may determine eligibility by reading eligibility requirements.
First, a staff member will direct you to a computer station where you will complete an on-line application form (please note: it is not necessary to complete an application form in advance of your appointment). Once you have completed your online application, it will be reviewed for completeness and notarized. The final steps will be to take your photograph and electronically scan your fingerprints.
By law, The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services must either issue a license or deny an application within 90 days of receiving a complete application. However, the actual turnaround time will ultimately depend on the workload facing the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services employees in Tallahassee and may be substantially less than 90 days.
